Gear Big

Whats best for sports cars and fuel economy big or small 1st through 5th gear?

Not starting the car followed by not pushing the gas pedal. Most cars hanging around 2200 RPM reguardless of the gear gives the best economy. Higher gear luggs the engine resulting in lost power (gas waste). Lower gear over revs the engine wasting gas. The gear does not pick the job. What you are trying to do with the car decides what gear you are in.

However all said and done in a perfect world, 5th gear will always give the best economy until you get the speeding ticket for doing 50 MPH in a school zone.
